Moro
Origin:Probable gemmary
mutation of the pigmented group of cultivar that originated in the Lentini
territory (Siracusa) at the beginning of the century.
Maturity time: mid-December.
Size: medium, 150-220 gms.
Shape: globular or ovoid.
Peel: medium thickness, orange in colour with wine-red
streaks
Pulp: dark wine-red in colour, rather acidular, seedless and
giving a great quantity of juice.

Sanguinello
Origin: selected by the Istituto Sperimentale per l'Agrumicoltura
of Acireale, Italy. Comprises numerous clonal cultivar of high quality.
Maturity time: January-February.
Size: medium, 150-200 gms.
Shape: spheroid to ovoid.
Peel: compact, papillated with wine-red streaks.
Pulp: orange in colour with many blood-coloured streaks, very juice
and almost seedless.

Ovale
Origin: Italian.
Maturity time: late, March-May.
Size: medium-large, 160-200 gms.
Shape: oval with a slightly ridged base.
Peel: thin and leathery, yellow-orange in colour, subject
to turning green again.
Pulp: orange in colour with a high quantity of juice and seedless.

Clementine
Origin: probable natural hybrid between the "Granito"
bitter orange and the "Avana" mandarin discovered by Father
Clement Rodier of the Misserghin Orphanage, in Algeria.
Maturity time: very early, mid-October.
Size: variable, 70-100 gms.
Shape: ovoid.
Peel: deep orange in colour with a smooth, thin surface,
not so adherent to the pulp
Pulp: orange in colour with a fine texture and seedless.

Origin: probably originated in the region of Paterṇ.

Size: medium-large.
Shape: globular, flattened at the ends.
Peel: orange in colour with a smooth, thin surface
Pulp: sweet, orange-red in colour, with few seeds.

Origin: cultivar of unknown origin cultivated in Sicily since
time remote and from wich numerous clonal selections have originated by
gemmary mutation.
Maturity time: from October to March.
Size: medium.
Shape: elliptical.
Peel: fine texture, light yellow.
Pulp: medium texture and light yellow in colour, with abudant juice
and high acidity.

Kiwi
Origin: China where it grew spontaneously, the actinidia (Actinidia
Chinensis) found a particulary favoral environment in New Zeland. The fruit
of this plant was called kiwi, like the Australian symbol a bird with the
thin feathers and long beak .

Size: medium.
Shape: elliptical.
Peel: light brown .
Pulp: medium texture and light green in colour.
